    Default How bad is it?

I sent my Friodur 72 out to Glen for G10 scales and LOVE IT. But I dropped it in the sink within 10 min, creating a burr or chip or something..it scratched my strop because I didn't even think about the possibility of such a thing. I could puke. How bad is it? Can this be repaired? I'm so irritated with myself. I hope you can tell from the pics..

Don't sweat it. It happens. It will hone out easily.
The first photo seems to show a crack but that might just be light since it doesn't appear in the following photos.

The first pic looks like a crack, the rest look like a chip. The chip will be easily fixed, if it's a crack it will need to be shortened and reshaped

Looks like a crack to me.

That's a major job. The razor has to be reworked and cut down past the crack.

I should have cleaned the blade better before taking pics.. Not cracked. (After reading the posts saying it was a crack, I almost hyperventilated, stared at the pic, ran to the bathroom, and wiped the blade down to check. All is well on that front.)

So, a simple honing and resharpening should take care of the issue?

Yes, it wouldn't take to much. A crack would be MUCH worse!

The first photo looks like a crack, but If there's no crack then that razor is a very easy fix it will hone out very easily.

That doesn't look too bad at all. I found a worse ding than that in the razor I leave at work after my room had been cleaned, I got it out in a few minutes with a barber hone.
So don't worry about it, it is very salvagable.

The first pic looks like a crack & the second pic kinda shows it too but the rest look a lot better. If it isn't cracked, you'll be okay & it just needs to be honed again. It happens to the best of us. Sorry for your bad luck.........
