come to think of it, of the 5 Wade and Butchers i have none have Jimping. is that common for them?

No, they made some with jimps. Here's one with double jimps.

Thanked: 0I prefer jimping on upper and lower of tang but also notice the collection of moisture (another reason I deep clean my razors after use)

Flutting or 'jimps' started to show up in the 1820's - 1830's according to Ritchie and Stewarts's Standard Guide to Razors. My personal experience with Wade & Butcher is they are not all that common. As someone mentioned the process added to the cost of the razor. I too like the functionality of the jimps.

It seems to me that Greaves was one of the earliest to add awesome jimps back in the day.
