Send some pics, need to know how badly it's been honed.
too bad but it looks like a good candidate for a knife or a letter opener, just glue it in a fancy piece of antler or wood. JMHO
Would make a nice letter opener, or paper weight. JMO
My vote is for letter opener.

I'd clean it up & put a set of wood scales on it. I'm not convinced that it is over-honed by looking at the proportions of the tang, shoulder and blade. maybe it was made that way.
I could be completely wrong, as I know little about the styles of that era.
Clean it,,,,Scale it & Hone it !
Pin and epoxy a pair of scales/handle on it and make it into a scraper, for horn scale making. Hone the edge flat and roll it with a burnisher or hard round piece of steel. Or just touch the edge to a belt sander.
Scaping is easier, faster and cleaner than sanding. With a little practice, you can knock out a pair of scales with just a little bit of finish sanding.
You can make a nice scraper from an old razor, steak knife, piece of saw blade, a good hard putty knife or a cutoff, cabinet card scraper.
Maybe over honed, but also looks like it could be very old, and hence, not over honed necessarily.
Could you get a shot of the tang stamp?
It is for sure a Stubtail razor therefore close to 200 years old, so before turning it into a letter opener why not make it to shave.
