Default How do you like the Bergischer Lowe razor?

Is the Dovo Bergischer Lowe worth the price? Would you recommend removing the rubber grip?
(Alternatively I am thinking about getting the cheaper Bismarck 6/8 razor, so if you have both, please let me know what you think)

A razor is only worth what you are willing to pay. It all comes down to looks, feel, weight and other personal preference.

I really like the look of the razor, and the fact that the scales are made from horn. I also don't believe I have a razor made from Swedish steel.

As far as I can see the blade has no shoulder, which is something I like, but I have never tried a 5/8 razor with no shoulder. How do you guys like this?

I am a little skeptical about the rubber grip though. Does it create problems? I am also wondering if it's easy to remove or if the gold will come off with it.

I have both razors and love them both. Slight edge to the Bismarck. My BL came without the rubber band. Everything I've read says to get it off quickly. Rust will develop beneath.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.

B.L. are great razors. I think you can get vintage razors for less that shave just as well.

I have one and it is a real jewel. Not only does it look fantastic but it's an outstanding shaver too.
