Wade & Butcher manufacture date

Does anyone know what is manufacture date of this Wade & Butcher straight?

Hard to tell from the pictures. The lack of the country of manufacture could put it before 1891. If I had to guess I would say 1860. I am sure others will have some input. Nice Razor by the way. Good luck.

I agree. With the looks of the tail i think your in the ball park. But i dont know much. :)

Mirx, I would tend to agree with these gents your razor appears to be right around 1850- 1860's. It will be beautiful when all done up.

Welcome to SRP. Post some pix after the renovation and keep those beautiful original old scales with the blade. ;)

I have no clue about the age but it looks very nice, please post pics of it all cleaned up

Scales will be rather difficult to save. Maybe you do not see this on my pictures, but they are very damaged. It is something like decay. I even have thought they are wooden. Because after renovation I will use it for regular shave, I believe it is better idea to make the same new scales - same shape black horn.

Let who ever is doing the restoration see is they are salvageable. You can always put new pants on it. It's amazing what can be done with horn scales.

They are horn just dried out. More can be saved than one thinks :)
