Old or new Puma
First of all, hello. I am new to the forum but not new to straight shaving. Been using (and collecting) straights for years. Recently I took this Puma out of the display case to put in my Euro rotation. It came to my attention that Puma is still being made, which brought up the question if the razor I obtained several years ago is an old or new production. Hopefully someone here can help me determine that.

My take on the new production Puma razors is that someone bought the rights to the Puma name and either makes them or has someone make them for them. This just a guess as it has happened with other old line brands.
Absolutely no expert on razors but I would think you have a vintage Puma by the looks of it.

Yeah I'm also sure that's a vintage Puma.

Thanks. I thought t was but I am no expert. Just like using them!

One of my favorites along with Kropp and Bengal.

Razors come and go in popularity. 10 years or so ago Puma was all the rage now they don't talk much about them.
Original Puma's are about as a good a razor as they come period. At current prices I think someone putting together a collection should get as many as they can before they become the rage again and the prices skyrocket.
You definitely have a vintage piece. The new ones I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

I've heard the varying opinions about the new Pumas, but no accolades. I really like this one so I was beginning to wonder.... if it was new then maybe they weren't as meh as I had heard. I had been away from the hobby and had purchased no new blades for several years. Just enjoying the blades I have so I'm not up to date on what's going on.
Thank you everyone!
