Need advise
So, here is my problem. I will be listing a razor on ebay in the next few days. This razor is one that is very sought after But has not been listed on ebay since at least 2015 and that one looked like crap.
I desperately need an idea value. How do I locate someone that is honest and isn't trying to get me to sell for way less than value? Message my and I will disclose brand and model. Pix available too. Thanks

Rare razors are extremely hard to figure out a value for. Pretty much with collectables the last six months is the relavnt data, everything else is too old to really effect today. However the market will always settle where the market needs to be. I have watched a ton of eBay auctions on everything from very common razors to very rare razors, and the market is super hard to guess at. I presume you are looking for a buy it now price, or a bu it now with a best offer option. They are much harder and from my perspective if you start too high you will only attract the low ballers and the serious people will likely move on. Perhaps you could have a conversation by PM with a few members and get closer to talking specifics without violating any forum rules. I have some very rare razors that are with surprisingly little money, mostly because rare is not often vogue.

I wanted any idea so I can set a reserve. Going full auction but don't want to loose my rear, lol.
-
Reserves often require two like minded people to get the bid past the reserve and they do not always work as well as I would like.

Figure what you have in it. Mark it up 40% and pray more than one person wants it. Better to make some profit than be greedy.
-
Worse comes to worse, you can relist the razor. But that depends on how quickly you want to sell it...

Well, I just check on ebay, I am able to lower the reserve after bidding starts.
Thanks to a very helpful SSenior member, I now have a general idea about a price.
Here is what I am listing sometime this week.

I have one that is similar but newer.
Those are rare models and pre-date the actual Grim reaper. Before Mr Bresnick decided to use ducks or the DD logo his razors were just Bresnick or CS Bresnick. Some said Lifetime on them.

I used to have a Grim Reaper too. The scales were broken so I made new ones out of ebony. Here is a link to the article.
