I have this Joseph Rodgers but I cant recall seeing one this small before.
The corn razors are always thin but this is like a shorty..
It measures 11.8cm length & 20mm (13/16ths) width or just over

I would thinh that it was cut at some point but looking at it better it just seems all the blade's proportions are right...so mi guess is that it was made thi way. Who knows...it may have been ment for a smaller hand.

Get that blade restored and in new scales and shave with it ... they are exceptional shavers!

It does not look to have deep issues so i guess you could handle the restore with basic hand tools.

You coule even try making some died honey horn scales for it to match the original and there are some nice washer options on the bay for it including replica stamped washers and machined solid brass washers that replicate the original.

Congrats for the find...it is an unusual blade for sure.

You could probably repair the scales with horn dust and clear epoxy. Unless you can transplant the inlay to a new set.

Yeh my first impressions were that it had been cut down but the proportions say otherwise.

The scales might have had it but I haven't looked at them too closely yet.
I had to just de grease and wash everything because it was covered in what seems like ectoplasm :/

I did think you guys would tell me that they were common, im happy to know they are not..

Most likely a travel razor.

Definitely not cut down, as you said. The proportions make that obvious.

Yup that's a plausible explanation...a travle razor part of a set would justify a compact size...
A few years back I found a superb bakelite box with machined interior slots for a razor...scisors...file...and what I belive were other trinkets of male grooming...
Had nickel silver inlays hinges and lock....and was the size @15cm/4cm/2cm

All slots had nickel silver hinged bars ment to secure the items in place and the bars locked at the opeosit end...

The box was a beauty...I still have the pictures...So the punchline...I remember none of my razors fited in the razor slot...the blades were too long....so I sold it.
I'll post pics of the box tomorow.

As Zak said it's most likely a travel razor. Here is another example, hard to tell from this pic but it is of a diminutive size as well. Not necessarily part of a set, just made to be more compact.
