Default John Heiffor and SE Razor article from London Star

RETRO: Sheffield’s cut throat world of razors - The Star

Recently picked up a restored John Heiffor and while deciding whether or not to buy it, I came across this article. Some info on Heiffor and on the Sheffield Razor industry in general. I'm more of a newbie, so can't speak to the accuracy of the article, but thought it was fascinating along with some more details of Heiffor's company.

John Heiffor razors have become quite rare of late, it seems.
A chance to acquire a nice one may not come often in the future.
    Excellent steel, IMO.

I have one as well, a no-frills, simple 'Made for the army' razor.

One of the better ground Sheffields I've seen - leaps beyond e.g. the Wade & Butchers I've encountered.

I was considering letting it go, as I'm really not that big of a wedge fan, but I'm glad I held onto it.

A good read thanks for sharing that,

Ive had 3 John Heiffor razors pass through my hands, all 3 honed up easily enough and took a great edge, I have since sold them, all where army razors.
