Welcome to SRP!
A close up pic of the writing on both sides of the tang would be a big help. The box doesn't really mean anything unless it matches the razor. On the box it looks like it says 'Solingen' which means its a good razor. It looks to be in really good condition.....nice gift to receive as a Christmas present. If you plan shaving with it I would suggest sending it out to a pro for honing if it isn't already shave ready. For honing I would recommend contacting Glen (gssixgun) of Gemstar Customs Razors.
Please feel free to post any questions you may have, there is always someone here to help, that's what we do........
Happy shaving and enjoy the journey!
here is one side of the tang
The other just has Kirecord stamped on it

If you wade through the brand names here Razor makers you may be able to find some info.

So many razors made by German factories shipped over here stamped with a local dealer too, so sometimes finding the origin is tough. That style of razor could be from the 30,s or as late as 60.s unless you cone up with something on them there's no telling, yet it matters not, it should be good steel and after a proper honing shave with it, learn the art, then the razor will have worth to you.
