    Tonight I was going through some razor . So I took a few pictures..

    Nice bunch of razors. Love those big heavy blades and the way they shave.

    Nice razors. Still looking for a rattler myself.

    Too bad more razors were not made with the wedge end bolster like that Miller. They look really nice with mottled horn.

    Did you buy that Ascher from someone in the UK?

    So far, my best theory was that he was a businessman in Montreal. To date, most of the ones I've seen have originated within a few hundred miles of there.

    Of course things travel, but it's still an interesting data point!

    Yes that one came from the UK it was part of a serious collection which included the Stodart and more delectable delights

    Oh, wow! What a collection!

    I don't suppose that really knocks down my tentative hypothesis.

    For what it's worth, the T. Ascher razors all seem to date from about 1837-1850, and quite a lot of them were some variety of Masonic razors.

    Thanks for the info..
    I imagine a very wealthy collector passed ( I would have liked to have met him ) and I managed to get the bulk of his collection.. at a staggering price.

    Every Ascher I’ve seen has the same stamp. I don’t think they were made for very long.
