The thing I always tell myself is, look around at some of the 100+ year old razors in this forums, there are SO MANY. And most of them have been used for at least 1 "shaving lifetime" (original owner), if not more. Now think about what kind of technology and stuff ppl had in like 1890. Nowadays we have significantly better climate controls in our houses, better metallurgy and materiel science etc. I doubt criswilson10's story is rare, i.e. someone who got a razor from their grandparents in shaveable condition who's grandpa had used it everyday in his lifetime before giving it to them. Heck, I could go out and buy a vacuum sealed, climate controlled box specially made for keeping metal from encountering the usual elements nowadays. (You wouldn't, but you could).
Personally, I plan to use my razors for at least another 400 years myself :p...then maybe give it to a future generation. Srsly though, I'm more likely to drop it and crack it, or lose it or smthg than actually have it wear out.
