Pretty much anything other than wood but my favorite and what’s on the majority of my razors is ivory
Ivory, Kirinite, Horn, Tortoiseshell, Camel Bone, acrylic, G10, like TC, I'm not a fan of wooden scales.
All materials, maybe not plastic.
They all have different attributes. At the moment I'm all about horn..
The more I do the more I favor bone.
Works great, stable and looks good.
All of them. I go through phases of enjoying the varied finishes. At the moment, I’m enjoying the bright options in g10, micarta and resins
I'm a sucker for MOP.
And the only thing I'm not fond of is plastic.
The cardinal rule for me is that the scales should fit the razor, so well... Sometimes wood is the best option for example (my favorite razors are one of the rare cases where vintage razors had wooden scales), as can be sculpted ivory.
Ivory if possible. Bone would be my second choice. Wood is my third choice as it can really be worked and look beautiful.
Any natural material, preferably ivory or horn. I hate plastics - all of them - and have almost none in my entire household.
Contrary to everyone so far, I prefer plastic. Almost all my razors have plastic scales, the most being vintage, so celluloid I imagine.
I like the lighter weight, balance and looks, especially in a 3 pin with silver inlay configuration.
