Robert Klass goes way back in the history of razor making in Germany. I have one stamped Prussia. IIRC it shaves very well.

Sounds like something you should snag up to help get the RAD started. I bet you dont even have 10 razors yet. Come on man. Get with the RAD program. :)
Their razors are well regarded and I’ve always wanted one, so if it is in good condition, and you like the price, I have to wonder what is stopping you.

I’m not wild about the gaudy yellow splotches
The gold wash will come off fairly easily. There is some tarnish near the edge that needs to be closely looked at to see if it is something that will effect its ability to take and hold an edge. If the price is low enough it could be worth the gamble. It may be simple tarnish and it may be much deeper.
I did see that and was wondering about it myself
I just sent the seller a message declining his offer. Thanks for all the comments on this. I’ll find a good one eventually.
It was apparently a 7/8 round pointAttachment 326102
Last offer I turned down was $30 plus shipping
As of right now, I have zero. Thought I was done with straights, gave my 3 away to family and friends, along with my “starter strop.” I found I missed it, so here I am starting from scratch except I do still have my (minimal) honing kit minus the leather strop. I ordered a cheap razor off Amazon this morning (you know what brand) for a net cost to me of $2.00
I had some reward points I cashed in for answering surveys, so I basically paid sales tax plus a little bit. At least I can practice honing.

Come on Bro. You had a good start going. It takes time to get a great shave every day. You can do it man! But maybe not with THAT Razor from Amazon.
Are non Dovo Bismark razors good quality?
Well, I got my “Not to be Named” razor I ordered online. As expected, it won’t shave arm hair so it will be interesting to see if I can make it shave comfortably. I’m now looking at a couple of vintage, reasonably priced razors on the auction site. Hopefully I’ll have....and STOP at three total razors.
Let the smirking and chuckling commence...
I have had in my possession, one of that brand. It needed so much more than honing. It came long after I learned to hone. Early on when I was learning to hone, I was told to practice with the best razors I could. I did, and for some time honing was relatively easy. Known good steel, perfect geometry, all made learning the actual honing part much more simple. None of them got ruined. There is a well known member here that has had hundreds of razors, some remarkable collection pieces. He keeps a maximum number. It’s small, maybe ten. The rest he moves along as he replaces them with new ones. If you want to buy manny razors, you don’t have to keep them all.
Found a Dovo Prima Steel on LetGo in New York. Asking price was $70. Talked him down to $40, he said Deal! Then told me his location and asked when I was picking it up. So, any members near/in NYC, check LetGo for a decent price on a Dovo.
Attachment 326541Had a chance at this for $40. Apparently it goes for $130. I passed it up.
...oops.
Well, I now have a quality razor and it’s killing me waiting to use it. Shaved close yesterday, so not much stubble for the one I bought here to mow down. But, tomorrow....
