ren wax and buffing
Honed up my razors last night. It has been a good 16 months and they were overdue.
I had purchased some ren wax and put it on my firearms and one razor. But I am not sure exactly how to use it.
Should I wax it up so that I see a haze?
How long do I let it sit?
Directions say to use sparingly and gently buff.
My main question is how much to buff? Enough that I no longer see any haze? How gentle should I be?
Thanks

Exactly how you wax your car
Apply a coat, let it dry to a haze, buff to a shine.. I use a Microfiber cloth same as the car :p it works to a shine in seconds
I have been told, to always apply twice, and been doing that for at least a decade with great results...

Thanks brother,
That is helpful. The directions were not that detailed. I did not really let it dry long enough and did NOT do a second coat.
Thanks

Next question:
How long does the Ren Wax last? I just did all my razors and I use them all fairly often. I wipe down the blade with a bath towel when I am done by pinching the blade between my thumb and forefinger. Do you all think that will get rid of it the first use, or last for months/years?

I’m with Tim. I doubt that the wax stays on with all the hot water and soap. I wax mine before I store them, otherwise all the regulars are in a cabinet with an anti rust emitter.

Ha, so mostly a waste of time for my small rotation. Duly noted!!!! Thanks all and I will still use my ren wax for my hunting rifles.
