Default Brimfield Razors-- How did I do?

Went to Brimfield (huge flea market/antique fair... a whole town shuts down for it) yesterday with $40 in my pocket.

    Heres what I got:

Genco Red Cross -- White Ivoriod Scales, 5/8 - Spike point, has red cross in silver on the scales

Imperial Blade etched with "The Improved Eagle Razor. looks like 6/8 Spike point. Black scales

Costa and Sons, Boston, MA. 5/8 Round Point -- Yellow Ivoroid Scales Back of the tang says "H.M. Christensen, Brockton, Mass"

Diamontine #17 6/8 Round Point. Broken scales (I am making some cherry burl ones for this) Back of tang reads " M. E. Reppenhagen Germany"

I spent $30 on the 4 razors, had lunch of fair french fries and a Felafel, and a lemonaide. I had enough money for tolls ($2.00) leftover when I saw the Goldbug with Orange Celluloid scales and the guy wanted $10 for it.. Oh well.. had to stick to my budget.

    So... Did I do Okay?

They all meed some cleaning, but Thats probably the next step for me anyway....

    Thanks in advance, ad

If the blades are in reasonable shape, I'd say you did just fine. The Gencos and Christiansons are certainly well thought of. They others could well be quality blades also. There were so many manufacterers and so much contract work done, that I don't think you should worry about brands too much. For that kind of $$ you might find a gem that nobody has ever heard of.
