Oil will trap water under it so if its not completely dry...
I also use a Flower Frog. A tip I got from Outback years ago. It will hold a razor by the tail partially open up on a shelf for over night or longer before I can put it way. Its dry for sure then.
T.P. is great for moisture. It grabs the water much faster so you are sure its dry. I use it to test for plumbing leaks too. If you can wipe a bit of T.P. on a fitting after the water is on and come away dry you know its not leaking.
I used to oil my blades before putting them away, but got annoyed having to clean them up before shaving with them. Now I just leave the razor open leaning with the spine and toe against the razor coffin until dry and then put them away.
If I’ve been sloppy during the shave, I run some toilet paper between the scales to make sure all the moisture and any excess lather have been removed and that the pivot end is dry and clean.
