Default Looking for more information on Edwards Shorty

    Hi all,

I posted back in the want to buy section a few weeks ago because I wanted to buy the razor that my grandfather used when I was young. I've seen it sell on Ebay a few times, but always seem to miss it. I've tried to do a bit more research on it this past week and can't find much on the company or other information on the razor. Does anyone have any other information they can provide, or a good resource for me to look through?

I collect knives and do some sharpening, but just starting to get into razors. Thanks for any direction you can provide!

I have provided a couple pictures from past sales on Ebay.

You can try wading through the info in the link.

Be advised sharpening knives is similar to honing a razor but not the same. From the photos I believe I can see some impediments that will make bringing this razor back to usefulness a challenge. Good luck and be prepared for a steep learning.

    Bob,

Thanks for the article, I dug through it pretty throughly and learned quite a bit, but couldn't find anything on Edwards. Obviously there are a large number of makers during this time-are they not a well known producer? I could only find one other reference on Sharp Razor Palace and no information listed in any of the documents.

    Thanks,
    Doug

It's possible they were not a manufacturer but a contractor like Craftsman or Kenmore. Neither of those sellers made any of the products sold in their name.
