I picked up some razors recently and the scales look like bone. However, I'm no expert. What do you guys think? Is this stuff for real?

They appear bone to me.
I agree with you!
That's cattle bone.
That definitely looks like bone to me. The little specs in it would be spaces which are called Trabeculae, which is were blood vessels and marrow would be.
I guess they're a bad thing if you happen to be from India.
Cattle bone isn't particularly valuable because it's not particularly rare. :) It is, however, a very good handle material that's extremely durable. Bone is one of my favorite handle materials and Giraffe bone is the best and most expensive. It's very dense and less porous than other bone materials. I don't have enough information even with the pictures to tell you for sure if they're "worth" restoring. In my opinion, a razor is worth restoring if it can be made shave ready again and I'm not sure all of those razors would make decent shavers. If the pitting on the blade is too deep, it may go far enough to prevent you from ever getting a clean edge. That's what will have to be examined and determined by you.
