The scales on the first one is what drew me to it in the first place, apperently its british army WW1 issue its been well used &lovingly cared for.It cost me £10.95/$22.The greeenhandled one is new ebay purchase from tommyrazor ,hes from Fort Lauderdale& hes been great to deal with .Check him out he seems to get some very good stuff. Its a5/8 wade &butcher wedge with etched blade &it does'nt seem to have been used.Paul
I also love the scales on the first one!
Cheers
Ivo
The scales on the J Allen are indeed great, but I'm bowled over by the blade shape. That is the spikiest spike point I've ever seen!
Oh. Mark - you should have seen the 7/8 Satinedge that I sold - this thing was scary
I wish I had kept it
Cheers
Ivo
I've got one of the "You lather well, I'll shave well" razors. I dremelled off the etching on the blade, though, because it was pitted in places.
Vary Nahs:tu Now to find out where you hide them...
Hi Paul
I am glad you are pleased with your collection of razors; the J Allen was one my baby’s so I am pleased that you like it.
You have the start of a great collection; I have a mix of old and new but there seems to be something special about vintage razors. It’s a bit like living in an old house, it’s seen a bit of history.
Hope this post will encourage a few more people to show off some of theirs, ill certainly will put a few of mine up in a day or two.
nice razors s&s:tu
