Nice haul. :)
Holy :cen Chris.....thats a nice score! I hope we see some of those around here soon!
Oh boy!
I am particularly impressed by the ivory Bokers (different from most other ivory scales I have seen - both thickness, profile, and look - actually, I'd think they aren't ivory but if Tommy says so I am sure they are, he knows his stuff); and the scrimshaw handle is just fabulous!
So I guess you like M&W razors? :roflmao
Cheers
Ivo
I love the bokers and I will be looking for the thursday and friday for the set. Let me know if you have any leads. I also need a back scale to the fancy carved ivory one. It is damaged and I want to complete it. That scrimshaw is done on celuloid ivory on the back side of the razor with the gold wash on the blade. It is incredible. The scale has been repaired but I don't care. It is too cool. I also love the one with the picture in the scale. The blade is broken but the scales are awesome. And lets just say you won't be seeing the M&W around here any time soon. I have 9 ivory, 2 bone, 2 celuloid, and 2 tortoise in those pictures. I will get those tortoise back in shape especially because the spines are worked. And they won't be hitting this market either. Add to that some NOS Joseph Rodgers, NOS W&B's, other good condition sheffields, and some turn of the 18th century razors and you have a pretty good collection all in 1 day. :y
Make sure you post the Bokers at the brotherhood thread if you would kind sir.
Tommy has been around for years. I think even though he now lives in Florida, that he still gets massive amounts of razors IV direct from the mother ship in the UK.
Have fun!!
Lynn
Yeah he says that the majority of his razors are in the UK but he got 3 or 4 thousand of them from a couple large lots in california.
So Chris, when will some of these razors make it to your email list? Inquiring minds want to know... :)
RH
Not sure. Some will and some won't. I am thinking about going up to the ohio meet and if I do I will take a number with me. I am also thinking that the ones I do sell may only be available on the list. In any case I need to decide what I am keeping and what I am not. Though I must say I can be bribed. :)
