An assortment of razors
Hi all, I joined this illustrious forum ~ posted a few questions & then was "locked out" I thought OMG what did I say to be banned so fast :fim:
Found out the whole site collapsed.... I re registered & have read a lot of new threads but have been too scared to post in case it was anything to do with me :D
Here's a list of razors that I have found so far ~ (we have moved house & the shed is like Aladdins Cave except all the treasure is hidden in boxes. Gotta hide things from hubby as he tends to throw momma's treasures out:cry:
- Puma Germany in wooden case
- Friedr. Ern & Co Weyer Solingen "None Better" "Hollow Ground Razor" cardboard case
- "The Club" Made in Germany Specially for Barber's Use ~ scales may be ivory cardboard case
- George Wostenholm & SonsCelebrated IXL Razor Sheffield England
- Bengall Hand Forged T.R. Cadman & Sons Ld Sheffield England
- LONG LIFE Made in Germany "Finest Sheffield Steel Forged & Real Hollow Ground in Germany (Scales may be ivory)
- Wade & Butcher Special Full Concave Sheffield England 95% sure scales are ivory. This is a very light weight razor & the blade is only 1/2" wide
- VULCAN Thomas Ellin & Co Cutlers Sheffield "The Hamburgh Ring" Horn scales
- Erik Anton Berg Eskiltuna Garantie Sweden (very ordinary, scales have been melted at the top) Berg was a great chisel maker & I know woodworkers prize his chisels but were his razors in the same league??
Well that's it so far but the search is on ~ I have a friend who wants to "tidy" them up a bit but I don't know whether to sell "as is" or let him have a go ~ can he damage them?
Sorry for the ramble

Ooops ~ & if any are ivory How do I list on Ebay as it is banned on Australian ebay & I can't cheat & list via the USA as I reside in Aust & therefore have to abide by Aus Ebay rules (got Ebay slapped for trying to sell a Dingo Trap via the USA a few years ago)

Nice collection.
If your friend doesn't know what he/she is doing, then yes he/she could do damage. I recommend you point your friend to the restoration part of this site or, sell them as is.
JMO though.

I'm sure most of those razors would go if listed here in the BST.

you might be able to get around the ivory issue with "a natural bone like material" that and a nod and a wink and we all know
