double duck

i just bought a double duck special #1. my question is about the blade color. the tang and narrow part is a blued steel color and the blade itself is somewhat shiny. should the whole thing be shiny or blued. thanks

I have on here that is very close to new, might be new and it is as you describe with gun bluing on the tang and across the spine.

Mine seems to be entirely blued.

Are you saying that the face of the blade is blued also, mine is almost mirror polished.

I have two case razors that have the bluing you refer to.

Probably out of the same German factory,

Pretty but doesn't stop them rusting.

Yep - face is just as blue as the tang. Only thing on it that's polished is the spine and edge from honing.
