OK, you guys out there that own 10+ razors:
Do you use all of them all the time? Or do you only use a couple of them most often?
Or, do you find that you gravitate to one in particular that you shave with most often?
Can you say that one razor above all shaves "the best", or is it simply a matter of different razors may have different strengths and/or weaknesses?
I only have two (so far...), so I'm interested in hearing from folks who keep an entire stable of razors.
I have probably 20+ razors at any given time. But my stable is kept at a seven day rotation. The others are on my bench for restoration and resale. I occasionally restore one that is has some special or unique qualities that might bump one out of my rotation. Consequently, my stable is rather good.
I keep 8-12 in my rotation. I try to use them all. Usually I will use one for 2-3 shaves and then move on to the next.
I think I have about 15 razors in various states. Honestly I use three of them more than any of the others. They are my favorites and I find that I gravitate to them.
I definitely try to use all of them, my current rotation has about 22 razors

Right now I have over 50 shave ready razors, plus about 6 in the restore bin....
I keep 14 in a steady rotation every day a different one!!!!
As I get something new that feels better, it goes into the 14 day rotation, and something else moves into the second drawer...
These 14 razors do not include my Dubl Duck or the Shumate Collection those are reserved for Sat-Sun shaves :D

I'm pleading the 5th on this question - if the SWMBO found out how many razors are at home, and how many are on the way, I might be in real trouble....

SO, to those of you who have a couple of "favorites", what makes them stand out? Shave smoother? Look nicer? Easier to keep sharp?
Right now I have 7 in rotation along with another 10 or 12 in various stages of restoration.
Is it a collection if they aren't shave ready? :)

I envy those with enough razors to rotate. I seem to spend far more of my time sanding than shaving.
I tend to like six guns approach. Keep it simple on weekdays...
Soon to be 5 days of Wapi's. I may have to trade in my Wapi's for Dubl Duck WonderEdges once everyone realizes what junk they are and starts selling them for 10$ a piece.
And special blades on weekends.
The big blades, the little blades, the smiling blades, the custom blades, the blades that need a shave test.
So far I have 3 week day blades and 1 weekend blade.

I don't even know how many shave-ready I have. I keep 7-10 out and grab whatever I feel like in the particular moment. There are other shave-ready in boxes just because they were bumped out by something new I have to try
There are certainly several that stand out - more enjoyable than the others because of looks, sentimental reasons, smoother shaving, etc. Interestingly, I don't use my absolute top shavers very often at all. All of them have less than 5 shaves total :eek: And I use some others which may have higher reputation (but I like less) more often... I need to start using my best more often :)

I use all of mine - some more than others but they all get a go eventually. My rotation is largish, but every time I shave I use two razors (one for the face, one for the head). I think at the moment I get through all of them about once a month.

I've got seven shave ready, but I find I usually only reach for a certain one or two that are my favorites, but I still always have to get one more. Sort of like my box of flies...literally hundreds to tie on and cast out and I still end up using only two or three the entire day...this is a terrible sickness we have.

I got about 25 soon to be about 30, I generally try to rotate through them all one at a time it seems to me the heavier and larger razors shave better and that could be partially due to the fact that they were just honed better or it could be the weight and size I think a little of each but mostly the latter as it seems all the heavier and larger shave better versus the full hollow singing razors.
Right now I am shaving with the same one repeatedly though in an effort to hone each one to it's potential before I move on to another just touching each up ever so slightly if needed after shaving with them before moving on to another. Then when I get through them all and rotate next time daily I will at least know each was honed as good as it could be.
About 70 shave ready and what mood strikes me is what i use mostly 1 of the 20 some customs
I have about 200 total......3 to 4 dozen of which are in various stages of repair/cleaning and restoration. Many of the rest are part of my "collection" (W&B's, Henckels, Boker's....) and about 15 or 20 I shave with regularly. I just grab a different one each day until I've worked my way through them and then start over. My Revisor's are two of my favorites because they almost melt the whiskers off.....my Dovo's are also exceptional shavers.
I have over 60 shave ready but have 20 or so that are my main shavers... i even keep them seperate from the rest... i wish i cold say there were all customs though...
I have over 90 all in useable condition. I keep changing my rotation. I used to rotate through all of them but now during the week I use mainly my customs and higher end razors and on the weekend I pick from the rest.
I am not big on "collecting" and keep it to seven in rotation but look forward to my three WB's more than the others.

This is sort of a hobby to me; I don't even know how many razors I have anymore, but it's well into the 2 digits.
I don't know if it makes them my favorite, exactly,
but on almost every trip I take there will typically be at least one Henckels Friodur, as I feel stainless is just more forgiving than high carbon (My TI's rust if I look at them cross-ways) and others I like but are simply not replaceable within my budget as I got them before they got ridiculously expensive. These are reserved for long weekends and times I have to just relax.

I've got about 25 straight razors in total, but I don't have them all in a rotation or anything. I have my favorites, and those are the ones I typically take the time to sharpen. Rather than refresh the edges on them right away when they dull down, though, I simply start using the one I like best after it. Whichever is the sharpest. Probably around 5 or 6 is what I use most. Some see little to no use, though they're still nice razors.
It's kind of like my sock and underwear drawer. When everything is clean, I enjoy a lot more freedom in moving from pair to pair. However, when the ready supply dwindles, I become a lot more reliant on one or two, often putting off on a wash.
I have 2 shaveready razors, a feather, and a razor in need of a touch up.
I simply spend too much time restoring razors to build up a collection of my own.
I have a couple of really nice things in my restoration pile, but every time I come close to actually working on them, someone asks me to do another restoration.
But even then, I suspect that I will end up selling the razors that I restore, because I don't need a lot of razors just to shave. (blasphemy, I know... :D )
That way I can buy more stones and more equipement to restore razors with.

Shaving razors - 2 matched Edgar Allen singing edge for when I'm chirpy, One 5/8 stock Kropp for everyday stuff, a 150+ year old Remie Neppo wedge when I want a change, a 6/8 full hollow W&B for when I forgot to shave for a few days and an 8/8 full hollow Kropp for penitence.
And about 400+ in various stages of usability but I try to keep them quiet!
