ax point?what is it? A french point?

I need some help. I did se a nice razor for sale, and the owner sad that the blade had a ax point.

I have never heard of it, what is it? A french point? Or a long forgotten style?:confused:

Axe point is a new one on me. i wouldcall that razor shoulderless with a square point.

i'm wondering if the seller was talkingabour the way the spine is ground at the toe ... it looks like somebody was trying to bring that to a "diamond" shaped point.... i have several shaffield razor with that detail.

That all sounds right. I have a couple of square points with that same type of detail. Here's a good pic from one of my SOTDs.

Yeah, think I will go for it.......right price??hard to say. Some idea on what´s right for it? Scales are ivory.

Scales alone prob worth a good lot.

Be very sure they are real Ivory and not "French Ivory" (plastic) before you pay any kind of premium for the blade based upon the Ivory designation, this is probably one of the most common deceptions/mistakes on E-bay.

I love my Joseph Rodgers and son razor, its my best and smoothest shaver and a dream to hone besides. I'd snap that up in a secondif the price were "right".
