    Default Is blade "spotting" normal?

So I just bought my first straight razor from The Art of Shaving. It's a carbon steel blade.

After a couple of uses, I looked at the blade and noticed some dark spots on it. I can't remember if those were there before I used it.

Anyways, is this normal? Is there a way to get them off? Also, I've noticed a lot of..."residue" buildup on the blade, whats the best way to clean the blade?

    Thanks!

You may not have gotten the bade copletely dry the last time you shaved, water drops will do it.

Also, do you keep your blade stored in the bathroom>? The humidity does that too. Polish it out with maas, should do the trick.

The dark spots are common. I don't know if its from the soap or light rust however try a pencil eraser. That usually takes it right off. If there is residue from soap you just need to clean it better or maybe your soap is too thick.
