Any chance of getting a relative age of any of these razors? I checked the link about about manufacturers and when they were in business and two aren't in the list and I'm not sure which the third is. Not sure if it is possible but I'd love to find a razor from the 1700s.
The first is marked "N + S Refined Steel" and the blade is a monster on this one. The blade is 7/8" and the back of the blade is a little over 1/4" thick and is a wedge. The blade is heavy (heavier then my 8/8 Friodur), scales are rounded and very simple and slightly too wide as the edge of the blade is exposed slightly when the razor is closed.
The second looks like it was stamped Barber but it is very worn. Blade is 11/32" wide and about 6/32" thick at the rear. I think it is a quarter grind.
Last is a "R & L Silversteel" blade is roughly 13/16 and also about 6/32" thick at the rear and this is a wedge too.
The strop that came with them is pretty cool too with the two pieces of wood to tension the leather. The box has old leather on the top and bottom and the top pivots to open to store two razors inside.
