How nice is that!!! WOW, WOW, WOW!
I would love to find more out about the Antalopes. This is the only other one I have seen I just cant find out nything on em. But mine shaves absolutly great and the quality seems to be high.
Thanks, y'all! :tu
@Telly: The Filly IS in mint condition, I got it NOS from Spain :D
@Johan: The W&B will never go on sale. Too long did the search take and too good was the price ;)
@bhands: ...and Julie Walters and Bonnie Wright and Emma Watson too :D
@Vashaver: Well, for what I know these Antelopes were made by the Perfectum factory in Solingen Germany for the US export-market and the NY-based company Griffon (founded in 1888, till 1968 they stayed in NY). Another small detail: Pre-1940 razors carry the name "Griffon cutlery works", post-1940 razors the name "Griffon cutlery Corp.) That's all I know about them, sorry.
Holy smokes, If that thing marked as Lea or somesuch is a styptic "pencil" then I think you're set up for life with it.
I really like the old Bengall, Acier and Elliot. Shows very well how razors have been evolving. Or at least I think thats how the older ones usually look.
You could have picked better pictures for your shrine, but then again I've never been a big fan of the Lord of the ring stuff. And since yours *your* setup, I think we can let is slide ;)
Edit: what the heck, after I press the submit button for the post the icons and personal info about posters have moved to the left =P.... or was it there when I clicked? .... hmm so confused, I thought they had to bring down the forum in order to make changes like that, so I probably just didn't notice it.
Thanks, Chady!
Nope, LEA is a Spanish shaving soap stick ";" Though a styptic of that size would be great, too :roflmao
You're the first one to mention the very old razors - thanks very much for doing so! They're the stars of my collection, the Bengall being a good 200 years old and the Acier Fondu and the Elliot being 180-200 years old. Very rarely do you see one of those on ebay and even more rarely in repairable condition. All three are awesome shavers even though I don't use 'em much, only for special occasions. :bow
Sir! I say: Humble indeed! If that is humble then what I have is Paltry! I like the stand you have set up there. :bow
Thank's for the info!My Antalope says nothing but Antalope "Special" #94 and Gemany on the other side. I will post thehttp://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...x/100_1178.jpg pic again real quik.Sorry about the size and:HJ
