INOX, NOS what do they mean??

Pardon my ignorance, but i have trolled the web to find out what INOX and NOS means but i have yet to reach a conclusion.

Can somebody please help me with this?

Inox razors are stainless steel or really rust resistant steel to be more exact.

I think stainless is self explanatory with the simple inclusion of a hyphen, stain-less. They will still stain, but are less likely to than a high carbon blade. That is not to say they will never stain, then it would be called nostain steel.

What can you do to make sure they don't stain and last as long as possible?

Many of us use razors made from old fashioned carbon steel... it stains and rusts almost before your eyes if you don't dry it promptly, and they were made in the 1800s, so they have lasted at least 100 to 200 years. If you are simply concerned with keeping a razor for your lifetime, even carbon steel will suffice with a little bit of care. Stainless steel will take more abuse without significant rusting/staining.

Stainless steel of *any* kind, does not mean it will never stain or rust if you leave it wet in the bathroom with soap all over it, it just means you can be a bit more careless... As in "Oops... I forgot to wipe my razor dry an hour ago", not "Oops.... I always put my razor back in a drawer, sopping wet, with lather all over it."

A quick wipe after your shave is all you need to do.. maybe a few laps on a linen type strop to make sure the edge is completely dry. It's why we don't usually worry about it being carbon steel or stainless steel. They both shave well and look great if you take care of them.

I forgot to dry a razor ONCE.... I paid for that one. Today I own 2 stainless razors and and about 30 carbon steel razors, but I rarely use the stainless ones as I don't much care for them.

There are many types of stainless steel. Some are so rust resistant you could submerge them in salt water for a year and they will show no rust. Most common stainless are very rust resistant. You need to try pretty hard to get them to rust but it can happen.

Yup, just picked up a stainless razor from the 1920s/30s that does not have rust on the blade. A reasonable level of care should keep them virtually rust free.
