Good Morning Gentlemen
I am recently new to the world of Straight Razor Shaving. But, man!!! is it enjoyable.
My question is quite simple. I just want to know what the general consensus is with these razors. There are for sure asthetically pleasing, but are the quality shavers. I read a couple of posts on badger and blade where people had mixed results with them. But I like the fact that most of them are fully ground razors. and mann!! are they beautiful

I don't have any TI's so I can't help you there. Mixed results is probably about as good as you are going to get, since different people like different things about razors. TI's are definitely one of the benchmark razor makers, there's only one way to find out if it's the one for you--buy it and try it!
Actually, I don't think there is much doubt about the performance of the TI's, I think most averyone thinks that they shave great. Where TI has had issues is with fit & finish of there scales and cosmetics.
I got several Dovo's, but no TI razors. I wanted to give them a try so i ordered a "Evide Sonnant Extra" 6/8 from classicshaving two weeks ago. I tried it out yeasterday and it was an really good shaver. I have heard that there has been some quality issues, but the one i got looked very nice and flawless.
And again, it shaved like a dream.
However, as i said, this is my first TI. I'm sure someone more experienced with them will chime in.
Do you think your TI shaves as good as your Dovo's. I really want a fully ground razor and right now I am trying to decide between the two makers. The problem, for me with the Dovo is that I have a coarser bread and wanted my next razor to be a 6/8 but Dovo only has 5/8's for sale. I am shaving with a couple of wapiencas that I got from Mike Ratliff, and while I am not cutting myself anymore, they just don't seem to get as close as I would liek them too.Quote:

A quality razor is just that no matter the brand or the age or where it was manufactured. Just about my best shaver is a vintage Dovo fritz Bracht 7/8s and it beats all my TI's. Of course its vintage. remember that you can group razors by quality but that does not mean a "lessor" quality razor won't shave just as good as the "best" quality razors.

I have 3 Thiers Issard.
With my little experience, what I can tell you (with my poor English), that's the Thiers Issard factory is still in activity (I will visit it next summer:tu) and still making one of the best straight razor with a real quality of carbon steel in the world.
I shave three time a week with an Essercheroup 230 which is really fantastic
