What razor is this? Photo

What a great site! Please help me identify this razor that I picked up in a 2nd hand store this weekend. It came with a box. I'm not sure if this is the correct box. I also purchased a 4 sided hone/strop combination leather/stone. The dealer said that the razor was from the early 1900's. The markings are as follows:
A.B.C. Barber Supply
Washington, D.C.
Made in Germany

The box is printed:
Ludo Shear & Razor Works
SOLINGEN GERMANY
149 9/16
SKILLCRAFT
Hand-Made
The scales/handles have a wreath overlay on the top (both sides) and The United States Capital building on the bottom (both sides). The blade is very sharp and in very good condition with no pits. I paid $*****. On second thought, I'll save that info. for later!

You have two different things there, which is pretty normal for a vintage. Ignore the box, it means nothing about the razor. That razor is nice looking though!:tu

Did you look at http://www.uniclectica.com/misc/manuf.html ? Lots of razor makers there, not an all inclusive list, but better than nothing.

I have never heard of ABC, but who cares? Some of my best shavers are no name razors. I say hone it up and see how it does. :hmmm:

Well, ABC Barber Supply...that's just like Col Conk razors made at the Dovo factory in Solingen, but stamped "Col Conk."

Looks like a very nice razor.

Well, I've honed and stropped it to the best of my ability. It shaves very well. I'm African American and have some special concerns when it comes to shaving. For example, I can only shave with the grain of my whiskers. Having said that, I am getting the closest shave I've ever experienced with no razor burn or irritation. I have learned to beware of the square point. (I still have my ears, but barely) Truly a "man's man razor"

I was using the Gillette Power Fusion. I didn't think blade shaving could be any better.

From now on, I'm living the Str8 life.

That's a sweet looking razor.
