I am kind of interested in finding out about razors NOT made in England, Germany, or US (or Pakstan ).
Are there razors of quality from other countries?
I am aware of Filarmonica, but are there others?

Sweden had some excellent makers, Heljestrand, Erik Anton Berg etc. Check out the tread Svenskt stål/Swedish steel in Razor Clubs.Quote:

Switzerland. Lecoultre was based there.
Italy has had a bunch of makers.
The Netherlands. I have a Volma which is from Rotterdam, and I know there were a few other Dutch manufacturers as well.
The Soviet Union. They come up on ebay every now and again, Raketa seems to be one of the bigger "brands".
I have a pair of razors from Italy. Hand made over 100 years ago. They are unusual but shave well.
I know that you can still obtain East European old stock razors and I believe they are of a high quality.
The reason you hear about Swedish, German, English, French, and to some extent Spanish, is these Countries were all a part of the industrial revolution and both manufactured and exported to the world. They plied their industrial might at the time when straight razors were the only way to shave. They were copied by Pakistan, India etc.,
It's a bit like today most of our clothing comes from Asia and South America. You try and find a T shirt actually made in the USA.

Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic/Slovakia-I have a decent 3/8" army straight, much like the Polish Wapienicas, only smaller.
The list goes on.
