Double Arrow is a maker of razors. Made in China I think. The jimps are the serrations on the tang used to hold the blade securely, such as when wet.

We did a survey and found that (in our small cross-section)straight razor users prefer jimps. The main reason given was the improved grip on an otherwise slick steel surface, especially when covered with a lubriscious lather.
What are the different types of jimps? Ifa razor does not have jimps does this mean that it will not blade will not be held in place when it is wet?
All jimps I have ever seen are closely spaced, thick metal ridges. So I'd think the different types of jimps would be restricted to spacing, metal thickness, and metal type.Quote:
