Need help identifying

Hi, I got this razor as a gift for my husband and he doesn't know it yet. We were at an antique store and he spend almost half and hour looking at it. We didn't get it then cause it was cash only and we didn't bring enough. I took pics of it and any info about it would be wonderful I cleaned the blade as much as I could but can't get it cleaner.

I believe it has an ivory handle and it has a few cracks in it. It isn't something I think he will use but I know he really like it. In case my pic isn't the best, the blade says: 'The Royal Razor' and 'D.Peres Best Barrel Brand'.
If I took it somewhere to clean and hone it, what kind of prices am I looking at?

Ummmmm Kat??? Maybe I'm an idiot which is completely possible when it comes to computers but I don't see any pic's....

I had to switch them. Tried smaller images and they were 'chunky'. Good ones are up now.:D

The scales are almost certainly celluloid, not ivory, but veeery nice!

So...how old are we talking for this razor??
After looking into celluloid I am really wondering.

I got so into researching it that I broke down and gave it to him. I was saving it for a special event/night.

Based on the picture, and assuming the scales are original, I would say late 1800's to early early 1900's!
If there is no country of origin on the tang then it was probably made before 1897!

There are no other markings other than the barrel picture and the brand so we are assuming 1885.

Cleaned, honed, new scales and that should make a phenomenal shaver!
