3/8 razors?
I saw a razor the other night while looking online for soap products and wanted to know if any one has shaved with a 3/8? If so, how was it compared to a 5/8 or 6/8? Also has anyone heard of brands called Erbe or Malteser? I found them on Nagelan.com. They looked like they are overpriced compared to a Dovo or TI. Thanks all!

Yeah I have one of those 3/8's Filarmonicas I am a huge fan of smaller razors in fact the largest size I will even consider is a 6/8, my actual favorite size is a 11/16 .... The 3/8 is a little to small for even my taste, there are really designed as more of a trimimg razor, than a shaving razor, but sharp is sharp and you can shave with them...
If you are actually considering buying one, pm me I would let this Filly go real cheap... I haven't used it in over a year, and bought it brand new....

I have a 3/8 Dubl Duck Styledge, I've never used it and have yet to clean it up a bit. Heres a picture, I think it was probably just for lining up a bear or maybe trimming a mustache hence the 'styledge' name.

I have 3/8 Henckels, never been honed. It looks like it would be a nice trimming razor, but I have whacked my beard off so. I got my blade more as a collection piece for the Henckels collection, and it was in pristine condition, although no scales. I have a barbed wire beard and prefer the heavier larger blades, 6/8 and 7/8 although I have plenty of 5/8 and an 8/8 or two. I think they would make a nice ladies razor as well.

I have a 3/8 Hoppe (Solingen), and have tried it, it is a pretty good shaver, but a little bit harder to go on with. (As I know, it's normal). I have another 3/8 blade, but I need o clean it up.
In my opinion 3/8's can be good shavers, but a bit harder to go on with, compared to a 5/8, or a 6/8.

I've never shaved with a 3/8ths. I do have a few 4/8ths and find them to be nimble shavers that work well. However, I also find it's easier for me to nick myself with a 4/8ths than a larger width razor. I attribute this to a larger width being easier for me to judge the perceived blade angle when I'm shaving.

3/8 razors?
I have found that the French HB250 4/8 are quite common
I have 5 of them & I have had several before.
I haven’t had any other makes of this size!
They don’t seem to be very popular, not like a 8/8 Wade & Butcher wedge
Mm! Size does matter!

Thanks folks. I guess that as most would agree the 3/8 is not for normal shaving that is good to know. I still don't know about the brands that I saw being sold on Nagelan.com. Erbe and Malteser. Anyone heard of them? Thanks again for the great responses.
