How many inches?

What is the "measure" of this razor? Should I just measure the "short side" of the blade? Here in Denmark we use centimeters, but I have found a converter on the net.

When I read the title of this posting, I was hoping it was about razors!

In answer to your question, yes you measure the short side of the blade. That is, the distance from the spine to the edge. If I had to guess, I would say it's a 5/8.

Its 1.5 centimeters, which is 0.5906 inches. But thats the metric system.

So how many /8s is 0.5906?

We here in the US are greatly blessed. We use the English system of measurment and are able to easily understand what a 5/8 razor is. Unfortunately, we find ourselves condemned by that same system now that our English bretheren and sisteren have abandoned us to the uniqueness of being the only society on the planet to use those uniquely marvelous measurement increments. (There may be an African country or two still using the old English system in effort to give us some support and solace, I'm sure)

If you run into a blade that's about 19mm, that's a 6/8 - my favorite size. A 13mm is too small in my humble opinion and something in between - like a 15 3/4mm would be a fine starter size. Oops, a bit of the old English crept in there. Habits are so hard to break.

10 millimeters = 1 centimeter = 0.0001 kilometer (1/1000)
100 centimeters = 1 meter = 0.001 kilometer (1/100)
1000 meter = 1 kilometer

10 milliters = 1 centiliter = 0.000001 kubikmeters (1/100000)
10 centiliters = 1 deciliter = 0.00001 kubikmeters (1/10000)
10 deciliters = 1 liter = 0.001 (1/1000)
1000 liters = 1 kubikmeter

10 milligrams = 1 gram = 0.0001 ton (1/1000)
1000 grams = 1 kilo = 0.001 ton (1/100)
1000 kilos = 1 ton

Get the point?

Yous guys have feet and pounds and all the stuff that cant be divided by ten, so its hard to multipli and divide into smaller or bigger measures.

An old friend was a pastor and our small circle of friends referred to him as the reverend doctor as he was a doctor of theology. I just borrowed that phrase and slightly modified it for purposes of our discussion here.

It you're having trouble converting, the conversion factor I was always taught, that I assume they still teach is 2.54 cm in 1 in

Then from there convert it to a fraction and reduce till it's where you want it or at least close
