Very interesting read. I love old history and especially when it gives the specifics of how things used to be done. I wonder what the master grinder at zeepk might record about the process. Certainly not that the blade passed through his hands 37 times.
It was interesting to read that the underside was file cut by hand and the back jimped by grinding. Things I would never have though of.

Very interesting, I noticed that nowhere was the word "spine" used, must be an Americanism :)
The one thing that really intrigued me was the use of the word "Plastic" in reference to the wedge (tin)....
