If I use straights only 2-4 times a week (the rest I may chose a DE), should I store them in some special way?
I usually dry them thoroughly and they sit in a shelf in the bedroom (no moisture).

As long as they are dry, there isn't any special way to store them. Some people keep them in drawers, shelves, boxes, you name it. As long as they are not contantly exposed to moisture (for example, steam from hot showers), the razors won't be in trouble.Quote:

I always cover a razor with a light coat of oil, if there's the slightest possibility that I may not use within the next day.
Rooms with significant temperature fluctuations, such a many bedrooms, can have periodically very high relative humidity levels. Corrosion, particularly at the edge, occurs long before the naked eye can catch it.
I've had issues with microscopical corrosion at the edge of a Dovo. Because of the extreme thinness of the edge, holes were rusted right through, while the rest of the razor showed (to the naked eye) not the least sign of trouble. It took considered honing (and steel removal), before I hit sound steel for a good edge again.
I use mineral oil for small household mechanics. The application of it just takes about 10 seconds.
