You can order it directly from Mastro Livi here.
Mastro Livi used to display prices on his site, but looks like he has taken them down. I guess it's price on application now. Coltellerie Livi - Artistic Knives and straight razors
The mammoth ivory set (loom strop, brush, razor) was something like 1300 Euros some time ago. Probably more now.
I think his son Luca has limited knowledge of English so try emailing him. The details are on the site.
oh my god. That was almost to much for my young heart! That must be the sweetest shaving kits ever made! I,m considering selling some of my organs.
prices should still be there if you click the pictures 1320 for the ivory with abalone insert set for instance.
And yes to the luca part, his son. I've quite a few emails back and forth with him and one other guy there in regards to a purchase the postservice forgot to hand over to me. Both of tm very polite.
They have lots of stuff not listed thouugh so I would send an email if I was you. The brush I bought alone was not shown anywhere. Well that's nt entirely true it was in one of the videos he has put out.
edit blargh! I give up editing this post. I've started using one of those ~9" notebooks and the keyboard takes some getting used to :)
I'm gonna pamper my self with the ivory set when i finish my engineer degree. The wife gave thumbs up! I'm so whipped..:rofl2:
If you are seriously considering this venture, your best bet is to speak to Lynn or Don @straight razor designs,,,,they'll make it happen for you.
Not to put anyone down or anything. But In my opinion if he wants to buy a livi set his best bet is to do so through Livi. I bought one of his sets which I'm very fond of. But I went through a vendor in the US. Now I am from Denmark and op Kristoffer is from Norway so the countries might not be exactly alike but we are very similar generally. I got hit by customs pretty hard +25% to the price, I'm just happy they didn't add VAT to it =). When shopping within European borders the Danish customs generally aren't as anal in my experience when it comes to moms.
Either way. you should remember that it can take time for the items to be made if they don't have something on hand that fits the bill so to speak.
chady, plug in an external keyboard, if it is going to be your full time machine that is what I'd do.

+1 on the risks of import duties etc. but Lynn may be a good person to talk to about it anyway as he has known Mastro Livi for many years and can advise you on all sorts.
I'll throw in another possibility... at that cost, why not make a trip out of it? I took a summer holiday to Italy (Tuscany/Umbria area) and took a day trip to Perugia. Mastro Livi's workshop is there and you will be faced with an enormous choice of razors, brushes and strops. It's a like a sweetshop for us SRPers.
Mastro Livi is very hospitable and loves visitors. If you're saving this for a post-degree treat, then why not roll it into a summer holiday too?
Thats a great idea! I think I read some post about a guy who visited him.Lots of nice pictures if I,m not mistaken.Do you have a Livi? In case how do you like it? Is it worth the cost?
I was one of them. I ordered two Livi regrinds with boxwood scales for my 60th birthday in June and my wife and I went to Perugia to pick them up in person. They are far and away my best shavers. They are absolute a good value for the money in addition to having much more warmth than an industrial product.
Ok,so if I visit him I will have no trouble finding the shaving kit of my dreams in his store? I mean without preordering? PS: I want damascus steel and ivory.
OK,Thanks. You've been real helpful. Btw, can you pretty much design your own razor when you order from him?:tu
Yes, you can pretty much ask for any design and specification. Do a forum search on "Pilgrimage to Perugia" for two threads I did a while ago. The first was where I stole loads of ideas from members here on design, the second was the journey there on a family holiday to pick up the piece. Unforgettable and the best fun.
My only regret was that I didn't pick up a regrind as well at that time. I will next time!
I got lucky one morning some months ago. A fellow had this set and had never used it. He put it on ebay for $800.00 buy it now. I wrestled with it for about an hour before I pulled the trigger. Great razor and brush and I love the loom strop too.

wow! great set! That must have been a real bargain,at least a couple of months ago. You lucky bastard! At least I've been promised a Livi regrind for my birthday in may, looking forward!
The livi set is something I have to wait a while to buy, but I've already started the design proces in my mind:hmmm:
