Hi Mark, Kropps are usualy late 19th early 20thC.
Kropp IIRC correctly were based in London but had razors made in Sheffield and Germany often out of Sheffield steel.
Mine is a made and ground in sheffield variant.
They were made in different sizes but nearly always the common old round point hollow ground style.
Box sets were made, black and ivory scaled versions.
Blueprinciple has them in a nearly all sizes, one is a mad 8/8 !

Marcus,
Thanks for the info, been trying for ages to get stuff on these razors. Can't find much via google....!
The belgian blue is bloody (no pun !) brilliant btw.....:-)
Thanks again.
Mark.......
Have you visited our Kropp razor club?

What sort of work have you done with the BBW?
M:rock:
Marcus,
I've rehoned the 5 straights that i use and incleded the BBW in the regime, definately smooths the shave. Yes, I've seen the Kropp club, thanks. I use a Kropp 5/8 and am currently working on a 6/8, but I need to hone a small chip out of that one, When i'm done i'll post some pictures.
take care,
Mark....
Excellent. Did you see Steve's chav car spoiler razor?
It's wider than a 70's tie!
:hmmm::tu.................
The only info that I could find (at a glance) on the Sprock is that they were made in Germany. The Huveso I didn't see anything on. I'll let you know if digging a little deeper comes up with any decent info for you.
Eric,
many thanks for the reply. Yep, there doesn't seem to be that much info about on the said razors. I have sort of restored and are using these razors and am curious about their history,9and frustrated with not being able to come up with anything.....!).
Thanks again for your time and trouble,
Mark....
:roflmao.............
This thread is degenerating into a fashion stroll down memory lane......;-))
.......Ben Sherman shirts, Dr. Martens, Crombies and Levi Stay Pressed trousers......?????!
(still puzzled by the Sprocks and the Huveso's tough.......)
quote=bpave777;291587]My friend and I were just talking about Monkey Boots the other day. Went through so many pairs of those for a number of years. Gripfasts also.[/quote]
This is degenerating........:-), it's reminding me of how old i'm getting........!:eek::eek:
