So, you see the INOX moniker being applied to stainless steel razors all the time, but I figured maybe some of us don't actually know why the term INOX is used.
Inox is short for the word "inoxydable", meaning that the material can not oxidize, or rust.

Okay, I'm from Germany, and I guess 9 out of 10 normal kitchen knives or scissors in our house are marked with INOX, so it's easy to be the smartass.
Anyway, You get a Thank You because it#s important to know all the technical terms.
Ah, by the way. On Christmas the whole family came together, and we had a great dinner at my Grandmothers home.
We ate with Zwilling J. A. Henckels Friodur knives :D
Funny to ate with kitchen knive marked with someting you normally relate with straights.
Rost Frei = Rust Free.
That's how I knew before.
Err, yeah, well: it says ROSTFREI, STAINLESS and then INOXYDABLE, which is the same thing in German, English and French, INOX being the commonly used abbreviation for "inoxydable". :)Quote:
