    Default Duck Progression

    Hey gents,

Just wondering if you guys could help me fill in a list of the Dubl Duck line from most expensive to least expensive. I think it starts like so:

    1. Grim Reaper, Lifetime
    2. Wonderedge
    3. Goldedge
    4. ?
    5. Satinedge, Satinwedge
    6. Number 1 ?

    Corrections, additions??

The Satinedge falls in just above the Number One. There is also a Satin Wedge, which I guess would fall into the same place; I don't think I've heard of any other wedges. Then there's also the Lifetime, which I'm pretty sure is just below the Grim Reaper, but might be above.

Oh right, there's also the Dwarf. Not sure where that would go for price, maybe about the same as the #1.

Ah, and the Style edge; I believe these are only 3/8. Not sure where they would go either, but I'd guess somewhere at the bottom.

The Lifetime is the Grim Reaper, as far as I know. "Lifetime" written on the scales in cursive; the grim reaper figure is on the bolsters. The idea being that the razor lasts you a lifetime, with the grim reaper thing being a play on that.

Ah, interesting. I had thought there was some difference between them and that they were two different razors... or that one preceded the other (one was developed off another).

    From another thread:

They made a thin blade hair shaper Lifetime as well. It looks like it may have taken interchagable blades or maybe just a thin DE type set into a heavy sheet metal spine.

Now, I may know someone with a Grim Reaper for sale......

I don't suppose anyone has some pics that could shine some light on the subject? Where is TheBigSpendur when you need him?

What we call the ducks were actually produced by 3 distinct companies. bresnick, bresduck and pearlduck. Most of the ones ending in edge were all pearlduck. However when you look at all 3 you probably have well over 30 different razors. Its hard to say which is better because for instance the Wonderedge was the best made by Pearlduck but the reaper was the best made by Bresnick-Bresduck. So you would probably have do split the list among the 3 companies. Also there were big differences between the early ducks and the later ones and actually the very early ones weren't ducks at all. Ducks came later.
