    Default Warped DOVO

Has anyone had a problem with their DOVO razors being warped? I got an Ebenholz Silver Steel over a year ago and decided just this week to take it out of the box and give it a try. It is warped to the point that I can't hone it. On top of that, I can't remember which website I bought it from. We have a dilema here as far as I'm concerned.

I also have a new Dovo #98 Perlex that has a very slight warp to the edge but it's usable. Has anyone ever tried to correct a warped blade with an arbor press. I used to straighten aluminum arrows when I was into archery years ago.

I will appreciate any thoughts on the matter. Thanks in advance.....JERRY

Hardened steel is not aluminum, it will snap. If you cant return the razors to the vendor, you need to send them out to be honed.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

Yep- I have the identical razor I got from Vintage Blades in November. Warped to the point that I can't get a bevel on one side. Weird thing is that Lynn honed it originally and it shaved great for the first two months- until I screwed it up.

I also have a Dovo that is quite warped. Seems to be some kind of quality-control issue.

    Default Warped DOVO

No more online purchases for me. I have sworn off Dovos for good unless I can see it before I buy. I will stick to old Gencos and DublDuks and the like from now on.

I also have a new 98 with Buffalo horn scales that I have NOT used yet. I'm afraid to look......... There is also a lesson here about keeping good records of where we buy razors for future reference...

Does anyone have an address for the DOVO factory in Germany? I know how to compose a nasty letter. Thanks..... JERRY

DOVO - Meisterwerke in Stahl - DOVO in Solingen -

    here you go.
Write them a friendly letter instead of a nasty one. Many Dovo's come with a slight warp, which seems almost inherent to their production process, but I do believe they take pride in their product. They might ask you to send the razor back to them and they might even replace it.

I've got the older style All Stainless that has a slight warp at the toe. It's nothing that can't be honed, but there seem to be quite a few occurences amongst the Dovo's.
