Any idea if this is a decent razor? No tang stamps as to city of origin, just "Old Bess"
Thanks

Is this the auction?

Yep, it was a pretty good price & it is in very good condition. First one that I in my limited experience have stumbled upon that didn't have some sort of manufacturer's name or place of origin.
I just picked this one up yesterday. I don't know if this company made your razor, but the trademarks are very similar.

Great snag Gary, hone 'er up and let us know how she does.
Also Walt's is a B.J. Eyre, while Gary's seems to be an "Old Bess." I don't think it's likely that Eyre would make a blade and then stamp something else on the tang, but the two blades do bring some interesting points to light. There were to companies making "Rifle" razors, and B.J. Eyre's "normal" stamping was "The Challenge Razor."
