Just to be clear, I was not impugning the integrity of the seller of the "plastic Wapi." I just wondered what the basis was for calling them Wapis.
For a time, Double Arrows were also being called Wapi IIs, and I questioned that as well.

I've got the case here that contained the razor. It has both the smf logo, as well as the text "WAPIENICA" and it's in brownish plastic. There's also a piece of paper inside, in Polish, that appears to babble a bit about fabrication and checks and what not.
I was wondering too. I thought it might refer to how Germany was treated so badly after WW1*, which ultimately caused WW2.
(* We made Germany pay massive reparations but took away their wealth-producing areas of land. As well as banning them from having an army.)
close.
It is actually in reference to India. Specifically the struggle to find volunteers to fight for the crown during WW1 in India. This is the full quote, as written GANDHI: An autobiography. The story of my experiments with Truth.
‘Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act of depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest. If we want the Arms Act to be repealed, if we want to learn the use of arms, here is a golden opportunity. If the middle classes render voluntary help to Government in the hour of its trial, distrust will disappear, and the ban on possessing arms will be withdrawn.’
Gandhi did not approve of gun control, but we must remember that then is not now, it is not fair to use this quote with out it's historical context IMO.
Gandhi won't mind:hmmm: Don't worry:roflmao
Just to clarify -
a) I do not have a copper bottom.
b) the all-steel Wapis are now gone, though I hope to obtain more in the future from various sources.
c) the 'plastic' Wapi is NOS and they are most definitely Wapienicas - I have some in their original boxes that have the word 'Wapienica' embossed on the lid, despite the fact that the razors inside have variously blank, SFM and SFK on the tang.
d) All come from my seller in Poland.
That provenance is good enough for me!
BTW I think the plastics have a better edge than the SS!
