I was hoping there were some guys (or gals even) who may have some experience with the Rolls Razor. The earlier thread about the Rolls made me start thinking about my old one. I got it out and shaved with it tonight on a whim.
It wasn't as uncomfortable as I remember, but I still have trouble with the ATG pass.
How do you get a good edge on these things?
The other trouble I had was under the nose. The safety bar pretty much makes the Coup de' Matre impossible.

My first recent experience with the rolls has been very disapointing.I even tried honing and stroping with my usual hone & strop.

How to Sharpen a Rolls Wedge:
You need the following:
(1) No.2 Pencil or Chopstick
(2) Hones
Open the Rolls Razor
Remove the blades and set them aside.
On the stropping mechanism there is a point attached to a sheet metal clip that the wedge is mounted on
CAREFULLY pop this off, it is thin sheet metal do not bend it.
Mount this to the pencil
Mount the wedge to spike and hone like you would a straight.
The hone that is on the Rolls is a touch up barbers type hone, can not really sharpen with it. The Strop can get worn out. I know it can be replaced. There was something in the classifieds about this.
If you are having problems with the Rolls remember to "float" the angle of the blade and for the lip it might help to roll the upper lip under your top teeth.
I love my Rolls and have been shaving with it for a while.
I have two of them. They are not bad at all, even when you just use the built-in hone. The strop on them should be coated with abrasive. Rolls sold little pots of it. I got a pot of it of evil-bay.
If you blade is reasonable, the shave should be ok.
