Thanks guys This is a great site.
All,
I am a newby/new member and just happened on this thread. Being new to SR's I am slowing figuring out the world of wet shaving all the while trying to avoid opening my carotid... Now that I chanced on this info and being a Marine the Clauss USMC model is now near the top of my wish list. If anyone gets a bead on a one I would appreciate the chance to buy it.

Russell
There are no former MARINES ONCE A MARINE ALWAYS A MARINE. That being said I can smell Parris Island from my house. I will go to the museum on P.I. and ask about dates and razors. They have in the past given me good info on other items I've taken there in the past. I think all of us will now be adding this to the top of our list.

Guys, I am not a Marine, but I have a Clauss USMC razor with the "USMC" engraved on the blade. It is in excellent, unhoned condition, and I've decided to sell it. I will be taking photos tonight and try to get it posted by the morning over at Badger & Blade. (I would love to sell it through SRP, but I don't have enough time here yet to meet the requirements for posting a classified ad.)
I'm not sure if B&B will allow this, but I would like to try to limit the sale to persons who are themselves Marines or are purchasing for someone who is a Marine -- the goal being that a razor like this should go to someone who has served our country. Does this seem like a good idea, or am I just inviting trouble? Please let me know, and I hope at least someone here is still interested in this razor. Thanks.
If you still have it I am very Interested and a USMC Vet
I am also a Iraq and Marine vet. I think I found my next quest.
Man, I didn't know there were so many Marines here. Just to update, My dad and son are buying a Spanish War era USMC from Jeff who posted it a few posts above. This will be a grand Christmas gift.
Good luck in your hunts. As I've read, I'm sure it'll be well worth it when you get it.
Thanks Jeff, my son Chris, and my dad, Sgt Joe Bell, USMC, Korea.
Support your local Marine Corps League.
Cheers,

You guys should start USMC group
Thank you for your services and those currently serving. Godspeed and may you return safely.
I'm not a Marine but if I ever acquire one of these I'll limit it to those who served/currently serving.

Just so you know, probably the best place to buy one of these razors is estate sales. Many people have no interest at all in these razors and so they are "dumped" with all of the personal effects into a bargain bin. Unfortunately, the heirs are usually selling something worth hundreds of dollars for $5, but that's the sad but true part about how most of these razors get located.
