I do not belive that dovo would provide razors shave ready out of the factory, they would be conditioned to that point by the middle man such as Classic Shaving. Dovo does not sell its products directly to the general public, you would have to get it from a re-seller.
I've bought some 12 DOVO razors. All were sealed in their boxes.
Sharpness: they are "so-so". The're "sharp" but shave with them will result in some pulling. You have to treat them on the Norton 4000/8000 and then on the Coticule etc.
Boxes: three kind of boxes: the cheap ones comes in a black plastic 'coffin box', imitating the card-board coffin boxes.
The 'middle-class' is in a real card-board coffin, dark blue color.
The expensive line comes in a big blue metal box, elipse shape, the razor is embedded in some kind of foam.
Every DOVO razor is oiled and has on the blade a removable plastic foil warning not to touch the bevel.
Last but not least, each razor is accompanied with instructions.
To unseal the boxes you have to cut through a golden sticker with the logo and name of the company
Yes, I bought two Dovos new. They come in a Dovo package with a Dovo Seal sticker that needs to be broken to open it.Quote:

Has anyone ever bought a dovo brand new without a sticker seal? I'm seeing a good price on a dovo silver steel from an ebay seller with good feedback. I have bought from this store in the passed, but never a razor...
The picture shows the razor with the metal blue case, but there is no sticker on it. The picture doens't look like a home made pic though, looks like more a website style pic: here is the listing...

because I only want the razor at that price! Thats the whole point of it. at 136 it doesn't amuse me much, but coming in at the cost of a best quality i'm all over it! I don't like pro honed razors... I hone my own. Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and bought it just now.
In fact, I buy razors just to hone them usually haha.

I bought one of those from that seller a month or so ago. It's the real deal. All the right seals (intact) and packaging, and with Dovo's traditional dull-as-a-butter-knife factory edge. It honed up nicely and joined the rotation.
I suspect the seller is dumping these close to his cost. His target demographic is more gun-nut than shaving-nut, and supporting the straight-razor ecosystem is challenging. It wouldn't take too many "my new razor isn't sharp" complaints to trash his feedback rating. He may be cutting his losses and exiting the razor biz. Or not. We can only guess.

One of my dovos was in fact a smooth shave! Perhaps I was just lucky. Glad to hear though! It had a seal on the box when you got it?
Just a recap... got the razor. VERY good factory edge as usual... shaving quite nicely. Not the best edge in the world, but perfectly capable of a shave. at 107.21 this was a great deal! It does have a bit of a frown out of the box though, oh well. Came factory sealed definitely the real deal.... on the bad news end they increased the price! They pumped it up to 128 after I bought one.
