Sheffield Kropp
My mom is an avid antique shopper and I asked her to keep an eye out for any straight razors especially those marked Solingen and Sheffield. She flew in this week for a couple months and had this razor she found at an antique store, a Kropp made in Sheffield along with the original case. She complained that she thought she paid too much for it, a whopping $6. I took some polish to it and low and behold the thing was absolutely brand new. Never been sharpened. I honed it up, and it is by far the nicest razor I have. I simply cant believe the shave. Anyone know anything about these?
I will post some pictures this weekend.

Trademark "Kropp" was used by Osborne, Garrett & Co. (1899 - 1923). Located 51 to 54 Firth Street; 8 to 11 Bateman Street & 35,35 Dean Street London W1; & at Birmingham, Glasgow & Manchester.

I used to own a Kropp. It was indeed a very nice shaver! What a steal.
Osborne, Garrett & Co apparently had several brands of razors, including the ELMO brand that I just sold an example of. They made great razors.

You are right. Osborne, Garrett & Co had several brands: Kropp, Elmo, Carrara, Ogee, Osgar.

My first straight razor was a Kropp. They are indeed fine shavers. From what I recall they were ground both in Sheffield and Hamburg. Mine was ground in Sheffield and had it been a 6/8ths I would still have it.

WOW, kudos to your MOM!
Sounds like a great find.
Post up some pictures when you are able...
