Hello forum. Been looking online to see if this razor is any good.
Found this razor at a garage sale the other day.
It is a W.H. Morley & Sons Clover brand made in Germany.
It had some slight tarnish on it and I polished it and it looks almost like new now.
I've inspected the blade and it looks straight with no nicks.
I would like to try and shave with it if possible. I understand it would need to be honed.
Any opinions on this brand? Is it worth messing with?

You can definitely shave with it once it's professionally honed.And yes it's a good or reputable brand.Also,you did a great job shining it up,it looks great.

Very nice, I suggest sending it out to get honed and read up on the wiki, get some supplies and start shaving.
You'll only regret it the first week or so!
Welcome to SRP and great find! The razor looks great. You'll need to send it out for a hone, you can choose someone from the classifieds:

At minimum you'll need to get a strop as well.

+1 on professional sharpening. (My avitar is a Morley) A Morley was my first razor and is still one of my best. It seems to stay in the rotation quite often. When it's sharp it will do a good job for you.

Nice one! and once it is honed, you will get great shaves. The barbers notch is less likely to gouge you around the ears than a spike or square point, at least from my experience. Welcome!
Go for professional honing and other great tips.
Beard prep is also important for a good shave, so you might want to read up on it from the wiki and purchase some nice shaving cream.

That razor looks to be in fantastic shape and others seem to think that it is a reputable brand. You can't go wrong with old German razors. So the questions can I shave with it is only dependent on your abilitiy.
That is a good razor, & a great example! Great work with the clean up. Do what the other guys suggested. Once you do start using it, take your time, read, ask questions & remember it can take a while to master, but you will get it!
